For 15 years B. (name redacted for privacy) has been a Keller Williams agent and has been contributing to KW Cares with every closing. He was dedicated to helping his KW family in times of need, and never thought he’d be in need himself.

Four months ago, in October of 2023, after a barrage of doctors appointments and tests to discover the cause of mystery symptoms, he was diagnosed with bladder cancer. Since his diagnosis, he has undergone surgery and he just started chemotherapy. Once he’s done with chemo, he is expected to undergo surgery and his medical team “aims to provide curative intent.”

“Between my wife missing work, and all my downtime affecting my income drastically, this grant helps us face the uncertainty of how treatment will affect me, without constant financial worry.”

After being a successful agent for many years, B. has been unable to work consistently since his first surgery in October. He has medical insurance through his wife’s employer, thankfully, but without his income for living expenses, the family is struggling to support themselves and two daughters in college.
