Meet Arnold DeSena, from Columbus Ohio. He’s been an associate in the Keller Williams Greater Columbus Market Center since September 2016, and in the Columbus real estate business since 2003. He is a father, husband, and dear friend to many in his community and market center.
In April 2019, Arnold was in a near-fatal accident while riding his motorcycle, which left him paralyzed from the chest down. He endured over eight months in the hospital and many surgeries.
Arnold and his wife, Christine, have been learning how to navigate their new reality, which includes a motorized wheelchair weighing 400+ pounds and a wheelchair-accessible van. The cost of the specialized van alone exceeded $70,000. Between inconsistent insurance support, medical bills, and income loss following the accident, the cost of the van was out of the DeSenas’ reach.
How KW Cares Helped:
KW Cares provided a grant to help the DeSena family afford the van, enabling Arnold to have safe and reliable transportation. Arnold’s market center raised nearly $30,000 to assist with the cost of the van. Agents in his market center helped keep his business going, enabling him to close transactions that would not have been possible without assistance. Today, Arnold and Christine work together as the DeSena Team.
