One such recipient is Kevin Johnson, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer and heart failure in the same month—and then found out his insurance wouldn’t cover treatment for either condition. Below is his story, in his own words.
Kevin Johnson’s Story
I am deeply grateful for the extraordinary support and assistance extended to me during one of the most challenging periods of my life. When I received the devastating diagnosis of both prostate cancer and heart failure within the same month, I was overwhelmed with fear and uncertainty. However, amidst the storm, a beacon of hope emerged in the form of KW Cares, a benevolent initiative of Keller Williams, and specifically, Keller Williams Central, my market home.
The grant from KW Cares has been nothing short of life-changing. It provided me with the financial means to alleviate the burden of overwhelming medical bills and hospital charges that accumulated rapidly during my treatments. Facing the daunting prospect of battling two serious health conditions simultaneously, the financial strain only added to the weight on my shoulders. But thanks to the generosity of KW Cares, I could focus my energy on what truly mattered: my health and well-being.
The unwavering support and genuine care extended by Keller Williams Central and KW Cares touched my heart in ways I cannot adequately express. Their commitment to serving their community goes beyond business; it’s a testament to their values and the genuine concern they have for individuals like me facing adversity.
Today, I am incredibly humbled and overjoyed to share that I am cancer-free. Their generosity not only helped me overcome financial hurdles but also provided me with the emotional strength and encouragement to persevere during the darkest moments of my journey.
